Personal Growth and Development

Students often come to the Alexander Technique for practical reasons such as pain or poor posture.  In the process of learning to improve these problems, they become more attuned, respectful and compassionate toward their bodies.

This new relationship with the self results in feelings of overall wellness and pride.  Students report more confidence in their appearance, in facing challenges, and in managing anxious and depressed feelings.  While mental health is not directly discussed in the Alexander Technique, lessons often lead to greater emotional control.
